The Heart Walk was great fun Thursday evening! We’re thankful to Ryan, Ivana, Steve and Francie for walking with us – Sorry a few of our team members were sick and couldn’t make it.
The walk took us through the southeastern portion of the OSU-N/COTC campus property and out the bike trail toward North 21st Street. In all, we walked 3 miles and had a great time. A light rain fell for part of the hour we were hoofing it; boy, was it refreshing. Francie was our token super-fit person, nicknamed the “Walk Nazi” because of how she kept us all moving. Seriously, though, that woman had energy to spare!
We walked the course, headed to Subway for some dinner, and then hit Caribou. Friends who’d never really gotten to know each other had a chance to talk and laugh during the walk and that made us very happy. I thought I’d be ready to crawl into bed right after walking, but instead I was energized. It was just a great evening with friends.
I checked our team’s totals today and see we brought in a pretty decent amount (it’s not as much as the total shows – I think they added pledges I’d already entered). At any rate…Woo! There are a few checks still making their way through the mail, so that total will go up a bit. It’s not too late to send in a donation if you meant to, but didn’t get around to it prior to the walk.
Next year, our goal is to meet our team goal, plus exceed it. We’d also like to have matching t-shirts for the walk day, so I’m going to price them and see if I can get a discount since it’s for a charity event. If you have any leads on that sort of thing, I’m all ears.
Thanks to everyone for their support!
