Guaranteed appetite suppressant

Struggling to keep on plan? These vintage Weight Watchers recipe cards will not only do a bang up job as appetite suppressants, but will also give you that much-needed daily dose of laughter. That belly laugh will, in turn, release endorphins into your system and you’ll soon find the painful effects of your exercise lessen as they kick in.

Okay, maybe not all that, but you will surely get a chuckle out of the recipe combinations, dated photography, and — most of all — author Wendy McClure’s commentaries. If you’re especially adventurous, you can join those who actually download and make these bizarre concoctions. These folks don’t stop there, but photograph and post their renditions of these dishes at Flickr.

If you want to share these bizarre recipes with offline friends and family (or you want some really cool bathroom reading), McClure’s published a book: The Amazing Mackerel Pudding Plan has hit the shelves. “Mackerel” and “pudding” shouldn’t be uttered in the same breath, let alone combined into foodstuff. Urp. But c’mon, you know someone who’d get a kick out of this, don’t you? Ahem. No, but seriously — it’s bound to be a great read.
