My mom who now lives with us was cooking eggs this morning. So that is the smell I woke up to.
I just love fried eggs. So of course I had to have some. I do allow myself a treat like this once or twice a week. Usually this is in the form of an egg McMuffin on weigh in day. So I guess this week I had it twice. However the whole breakfast was only 350 calories. So not bad other than the high fat content of 30 grams.
I always say everything in moderation. I hate the diets that try and restrict what you eat. There are so many good foods out there why should we have to live without them. That is why I really think counting calories is the way to go. It teaches you portion control and allows you to eat what ever you like.
I still follow guidlines like eating fruit and vegetabls. But once in a while a day high in fat is alright too. We need a varity or we are not going to stick with it.
On another note I went to lowes last night and our old neighbor works there. I said hi to her and she said “hi” and just kind of looked at me. Then she said “wow you have really lost weight. I did not realize who you were at first.” Boy that really made me feel good. I was looking at the picture on my Y membership and I thought man I look like I did when I got married. Dana at Think Pink said I look younger after losing 89 lbs. I just feel really good about myself right now.
Here is a picture of my Y membership.
Nice new blog! Isn’t Mandi great??
I do agree with you though, that we all need variety in exercise and diet or we are bound to fail at it! Congrats on the weight loss so far. it must have felt great when the neighbor said she didn’t recognize you!
Good thing you didn’t want eggs from Wendy’s! There are times they have no eggs of any kind.
Yes Mandi is great. And yes it really felt good that someone did not know me. Instead of the shrinking man I will become the invisable man.
“All things in moderation” – I totally agree with you – that’s been my motto since forever.
