Feelin’ blue

My husband’s had kind of a rough day. He started out taking his oxycodone doses a little too close and having too much in his system. He got cold and clammy, felt queasy – Just wasn’t a good time at all.

There was no fever or other issues to point to some other problem and as the day wore on, he felt better. He’s starting to hurt pretty badly again tonight, but is afraid to start taking the drug again for fear of feeling so nasty again. Boy, wish there were easy answers to that one!

Mostly, though, I think he’s feeling blue and homesick. When you’re feeling sick, you want to be surrounded by the comfort, familiarity and people at home. I’ve got the people part covered, at least a portion of it, but I know how he’s feeling.

I think it’s settling in that we’re here for a while. I know we’ll both have sunnier hearts tomorrow when the daylight’s back, he’s feeling better, and we can get out and walk again. And as he gets better each day, we’ll be able to venture out and explore the area – that’s something we know we’ll enjoy. This is just a rough patch due to this post-surgical pain and the inactivity that entails.

Cheer up, H — it’s gonna get better, honey!

  1. Glad to see the pic of you out for a walk together. Tomorrow will be better! :)

  2. Hang in there buddy! You’re not missing much back here. Just a sunny, warm January day.

Look at the bright side, you got a few days off of work.

I hope it all passes soon so you can get out and see some stuff. There is alot down there.

If you make it up to Aberdeen, check out the weapons museum at Aberdeen Proving grounds. Small museum, but an interesting one. The Army tests all of the new gizmos there.

Don’t forget to have some seafood down there! Much better than Ohio’s restaurants.

I hope you guys made some progress on the insurance debacle, let me know if there’s anything I might be able to help with.

Howie, Remember the hard part is over. Better days ahead. One small step at a time. It’s un ugly, cold, rainy day here and nothing has changed at MWRMS. Email when you feel better. Everyone here sends their good wishes. We got your Christmas dog from Kimberly and your Santa screen saver to look at each day to look at and think of you. Hang in there, maybe a smaller dosage of meds will help for the pain. Don’t try and tough it out, let the Dr. know and maybe there’s something better he can give you to help to. Your picture on the sight the day you took your walk was great. Take care friend, you to Kim.

Hang in there. Can’t wait until you are home, but you are in great hands. It was raining today and chilly – typical Ohio weather nowadays. Not much longer til your home….
