Well here we are the day after the election. I must say I am not happy with the outcome as far as Democrats vs. Republicans. I am happy to see that we have our first black president though. So it’s kind of mixed emotions for me.
I do not agree with what Barack Obama believes on most issues and I did nothing to put him in office. I am proud that the country could overlook the color of a man and vote him in. I wish it could have been someone in the party that I agree with. Still, it is a great hurdle for America on race issues.
Twas the night before weigh in, when all through the house
Not a creature was eating, not even a mouse.
The frig was closed in the kitchen with care,
In hopes that weigh in day soon would be there.
The puppies were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of bities danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When down in my stomach there arose such a clatter,
I stayed in the bed knowing what was the matter.
Away to dreamland I wanted to go.
Tomorrow I weigh and tonight no Hostess Ho-HOs.
Darrel Green made it into the Hall of Fame this weekend. This is a blessed man. I listened to his son introduce him and could see the love he has for his dad. Then to hear Darrell’s speech on his family and what true success means was just awesome.
We just got back from taking the dogs over to the school behind us. They have a fenced in playground that Emma loves to run in. She is pooped and thirsty. Here is a picture of her cooling down getting some water.
Our silly Sarah dog is in the Mutt Madness final 16! If you would, please go and vote for her video there. Hers is the one entitled Sarahbou & Caribou. We’d really appreciate your support since the winner will receive a year’s pet insurance and a cash prize.
Thanks!
We’ve already won $100 just for her being in the “shaggy sixteen” finalists.
If she makes it to the “energetic eight”, announced March 24, we’ll receive another $100.
If she makes it to the “furry four, announced March 31, we’ll receive another $300.
And…a drumroll please….
If she’s selected as the champion, we’ll receive another $500 (for a total of $1000) AND a year’s free pet insurance.
This would be huge for us. I’m tickled she made it this far out of over sixty entries, but it would be fabulous if she won! She’s the same modest doggie, by the way, just watching for squirrels and keeping us safe from the mailman.
Our friend Tricia from Dave’s Garden has been picked as one of ten finalists at a local TV station’s SWLA (Southwest Louisiana) Biggest Loser contest. Only four out of the ten will be chosen to participate.
