Tested my new 22 this weekend. This was at about 25 yards. I did so so at 50 and lousy at 100. Had a lot of fun though.

Traded my Hi-Point 995 for a Marlin 22

Traded my Hi-Point 995 9mm rifle for this Marlin 22. At least now I will be able to afford to target shoot more. A box of 50 9mm was $12-15, but I can now buy 500 rounds for $15-20.

But if you want to keep up with some of my life you can become a friend of mine on Facebook. Just look up Howard Broyles and you can send me a friend request. I mostly use Facebook for uploads of pictures from my phone. Other than that you’re stuck with my slow updates here. I know you are all dying to follow me and know what I do.

The diet has suffered during the holidays but I’m still trying. We are having friends over today and I bought all somewhat healthy choices. So it’s a new day and a new week and by golly I can do it. And people like me. LOL

On the tech side. The G1 is an awesome phone. I love all the apps you can download. It has a barcode scanner on it so you can scan items in the store and it goes on the internet to find out where to buy them for the cheapest price. That is cool! I have the white G1 now. I switched from the black when I reordered because the first one was defective. The keyboard on the white is harder to see in certain lighting situations but I like the way the white phones looks so I will deal with it. The batterry life leaves something to be desired but it does last all day and like the Iphone I’m sure further updates will help with that.

Be very quite I’m hunting wabitts! Well pheasant anyway. I was invited to go pheasant hunting with a friend sometime in the next few weeks. I borrowed a shotgun from my nephew. I went out shooting with my buddy Mark yesterday. I now have a big bruise on my shoulder. LOL We had a good time and I actually hit something. So we will see how the hunting trip goes.

Take the Twinkie shelf life rumor, for instance. Some have said a Twinkie has an indefinite shelf life. While it’s true that its shelf life is pretty long for a baked good, it’s not that long.

Darrel Green made it into the Hall of Fame this weekend. This is a blessed man. I listened to his son introduce him and could see the love he has for his dad. Then to hear Darrell’s speech on his family and what true success means was just awesome.

I have just not felt much like writing. I am going to go see my Tribe play Wednesday. Me and one of my coworkers are taking the day off and heading up to Cleveland for a noon game. It ought to be a good time. Any day at the ballpark is a good day.

It’s been a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. I spent all day Saturday spreading mulch in our yard. We got six yards of mulch and I feel every yard of it. It was a good workout.

My eating has not been the greatest but I’m working on that.

A little good news is that we are refinancing our home. By combining our home equity loan and our mortgage we can shave 6 years off our mortgage and have the same payment that we now have between the two. We are going to a 15 year fixed. So we will have our house paid for by the time that we are 56. We are going to try and make a couple extra payments a year and have it paid off in 10. I have been listening to Dave Ramesy and trying to follow his advice. You can check his TV show out on the Fox Business Chanel at 8:00pm each night.

So that’s what has been going on with me. Other than that just keeping busy at work.

I went to get in the van Monday morning to go to work. I usually walk but I just felt lazy Monday. Anyway the radio was on and all I heard was call in and give the score to last nights Indians game. So of course I called. The guy on the phone told me I was a winner. I said great but what did I win? I won 4 tickets to see the Cleveland Indians. So me my father in-law, brother and a buddy are going up to Cleveland tomorrow. I hope the rain hold off. Can’t wait to see the game.

Baseball is open for business.

I was watching the opening ceremonies for the Washington Nationals. From what I understand it has always been tradition in Washington for the President to start the game by throwing out the first pitch. I hope it has not always been tradition for the crowd to boo the President as was the case tonight. I find it sad that people would choose to do that. I don’t care if you agree with the man or not. He is at a game and probably just trying to enjoy the moment like any other person would be. Is there not such thing a common courtesy any more? I don’t think anyone should have booed the President and I don’t think people should boo there ball players such as the Yankee fans do. I know this happens other places too. The Yankees just happen to come to mind. It’s like they always say “if you can’t say something nice don’t say it at all”. I know they are big boys and are in the public and can take it but that does not make it right. It just put a bad tone on the game for me. I was routing for the Nats because I usually will route for the home team when it’s their opener. However feel like routing for the Braves to win now.

Baseball season is upon us!

Only 1 more day until the Indians open against the White Sox. And tomorrow night starts it off at least here in the States with the season opener matching the Washington Nationals against the Atlanta Braves. I don’t like it that they had the season start in Japan with the Red Sox. It’s not fair to the fans to have their teams open up in another country. I don’t mind if they want to play games overseas but they should not be the opening of the season. So for many of us we will consider tomorrow nights game the first game of the year.

My buddy at work is a big Yankee fan and we are going to go to a sports bar for lunch and watch the first couple innings of that game on Monday. I will record the beginning of the Indians game and watch it when I get home Monday.
